Fendi recently provided a preview of its new boutique at 195 Grant Avenue in San Francisco with an intimate luncheon at the store hosted by Allison Speer.
To celebrate the boutique’s opening, and shop from the newest Fendi collection, were Sloan Barnett, Alison Pincus, Dr. Carolyn Chang, Lydia Shorenstein, Yurie Pascarella, OJ Shansby, Barbara Brown, Chrisa Pappas, Chris Lyons, Sonya Molodetskaya, Farah Makras, Cecilia Harris, Lisa Zabelle, and Deepa Pakianathan.
The luncheon was catered by Taste, and ended with a gorgeous dessert of raspberry panna cotta with Italian rose jewels, creme fraiche and edible petals, with colors that Executive Pastry Chef Rick Griggs selected to match the scheme of the boutique.
Showing its support of San Francisco’s cultural scene, Fendi will be sponsoring one of the SFMOMA’s most important annual fundraisers, the Fog Design + Art Fair 2018, which opens with a preview gala in January.
Allison Speer announced that Abigail Turin and husband Jonathan Gans will be Honorary Chairs for the event, while culinary legend Alice Waters will be the Innovator Chair.
The exterior of the new boutique (bordering Maiden Lane on Grant Avenue), features an all window façade and special suspended displays providing a full view of the store and Fendi collections from the outside, and lots of natural light inside.
The interior design features a mix of vintage and bespoke pieces, including a sofa by Jasper Morrison, 1920s style vintage armchairs, and Thierry Lemaire’s wonderful ‘Twist Console’ table.
There’s a great selection of pieces from “The Happy Room,” by Italian designer Cristina Celestino, who collaborated with Fendi on the design of a VIP Room on the lower level. Her pieces include a low table featuring a marble inlay on the top and a base made like the closing of an earring.
The men’s area on the lower floor, with brown lacquered finishes, dark grey metal mesh and dark brown parquet, is decorated with a carpet of a beautiful rich blue. It’s one of the best places for menswear in the City.
