Aubrey Anderson-Emmons of “Modern Family” and Amy Anderson, her comedian mother co-hosted an event for PLAE, a kids shoe brand with a new collection inspired by the elements.

This ‘PLAE date’ fashion show, held at Fort Mason in San Francisco, featured a milk and cookies bar, live art, and other kid-friendly entertainment. The collection features 5 different shoes, each with a so-called ‘superpower’ that aptly corresponds to the element.

It is extremely fun and wonderfully functional. Not to mention the three new body types – the Cam, Kaiden, and Claire – offering a sleek single-tap slip-on, a hi-top style on a durable hiking boot, and a knitted knee-high boot respectively.

Chief designer and PLAE founder, Ryan Ringholz, spoke about the new elemental designs as being representations of children’s connectedness with the natural world.

With perfect timing for our youth’s back-to-school needs, the collection is available from $49.95 at www.goplae.com, Nordstrom, and a few select domestic and international retailers.
