“Every day, life has given me its most precious gifts– health, love, friendship and happiness,” luxury jeweler Fawaz Gruosi recently observed.
And so it was that the founder of De Grisogono decided his birthday celebration on the Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo, Italy, should be given a theme of love, with the word “Love” itself displayed in large lettering, glittering poolside. With over 500 celebrity guests having arrived from all over the world, it was a spectacular event.

Only a few weeks later, De Grisogono brought the theme of love to San Francisco, with a display of the jeweler’s most beautiful pieces– the kind of jewelry so stunning your heart skips a beat when you see it!
Hosted by Giovanni Mattera, Karen Kubin, Charlot Malin and Jane Mudge, the occasion was a celebration of the Fall 2015 season of the San Francisco Opera, specifically the Opera Ball, for which De Grisogono served as luxury jewelry sponsor.

The private room at Villa Taverna provided a wonderful opportunity to examine the precious pieces close-up. It was impossible to decide on a favorite, although who wouldn’t gasp upon seeing the $6 million statement necklace made of mesmerizing Colombian emeralds.
But it’s not too hard to describe the feeling De Grisogono’s most beautiful stones evokes– one word will do it:
Love.
